Ford Pro is looking for an IAM / Identity Software Engineer who embraces Agile-eXtreme Programming principles to deliver secure, scalable identity and access management solutions for Ford Motor Company and our commercial customers.
 



Responsibilities

What you'll do...
   • Design and implement IAM solutions using modern authentication and authorization protocols across web and mobile platforms
   • Develop and customize identity flows including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), and federated identity scenarios
   • Build and maintain secure REST APIs and backend services using Java/Spring Boot to support identity and access management capabilities
   • Integrate enterprise and third-party applications with IAM platforms to enable seamless SSO and user lifecycle management
   • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to meet regulatory, organizational, and enterprise security standards
   • Automate IAM processes using CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
   • Engage in Test-first Development and Test Driven Development
   • Cloud development using cutting-edge technologies and integrations with Ford enterprise systems
   • Monitor and evaluate the performance and security posture of IAM solutions



Qualifications

You'll have...
   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
   10+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend development and identity/access management
   10+ years of experience with Object-oriented development languages, including:
       Java
       Python
       JavaScript
   Strong experience with Spring Boot and RESTful Web Services development
   Experience with IAM concepts including Single Sign-On (SSO) and enterprise security compliance standards
   Modern databases (Relational and non-relational)
   3+ years of experience developing and deploying to cloud platforms, such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Amazon Web Services
   Familiarity with debugging problems using appropriate tools
   Continuous integration/continuous delivery tools and pipelines, such as Jenkins and Terraform
   Experience with end-to-end testing tools


Even better, you may have...
   Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
   Deep understanding of authentication protocols: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, and JWT/token-based authentication
   Hands-on experience with Azure AD B2C including custom policies, MFA flows (SMS, Email, TOTP), and enterprise application registration
   Experience with identity lifecycle management: user provisioning, de-provisioning, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
   Experience integrating enterprise and SaaS applications with identity providers for SSO
   Knowledge of security and compliance standards including OWASP, regulatory frameworks, and enterprise access governance
   Familiar with eXtreme Programming (XP) practices including Pair/Mob programming and Test-first/Test Driven Development (TDD)
   Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
   Experience with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines (Tekton, Jenkins)
   Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog
   Highly effective in working with other technical specialists, Product Managers, and business partners
   Passion for learning and willingness to work in a pair programming environment
   Understanding of fundamental data modeling
