About the Company
Our client is a global law firm whose in-house engineering team builds enterprise-grade and greenfield applications on .NET, React and Azure.

About the Role
As Lead Software Engineer, you'll be the technical lead for a full-stack team while still writing production code. You'll steer architecture and engineering practices, run code reviews and coach other engineers, with no direct reports. You'll partner with product, design and business teams to scope, build and ship features that hold up at scale.

What You'll Do
  • Build and evolve scalable full-stack applications: .NET services and a TypeScript, React and Next.js front end, all on Azure
  • Drive technical decisions on architecture, design patterns and engineering practices
  • Review code for quality, security and performance
  • Coach and develop junior and mid-level engineers
  • Work with product managers, designers and business stakeholders to scope and deliver features
  • Find and fix bottlenecks in database queries, front-end rendering and API calls
  • Keep applications secure, from authentication and authorization to data protection
  • Partner with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines and automated Azure deployments
  • Track emerging tools and make the case for the ones worth adopting

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of full-stack software development
  • Deep experience with .NET, React, Next.js, TypeScript and Azure; strong engineers from comparable stacks who ramp quickly will be considered
  • Lead or mentoring experience, including code reviews and technical design
  • Solid command of design patterns and scalable application architecture
  • RESTful API and microservices design
  • Hands-on database work with SQL Server, PostgreSQL or NoSQL
  • Git and Agile delivery
  • Enterprise-grade application and greenfield build experience
  • Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders, sound judgment and discretion with confidential information
  • Organized and detail-oriented, comfortable juggling competing deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future

Nice to Have
  • Docker, Kubernetes or Azure Container Apps
  • Serverless and cloud-native architecture
  • Unit testing frameworks and automated testing
  • Azure or related certifications
  • AI development, or AI tools in your development workflow
